Whether you are a parent seeking traditional braces for your child or an adult looking for a discreet cosmetic transformation, we offer the full spectrum of orthodontic care. Traditional Braces

  • Best for complex bites, severe crowding and rotations
  • Fixed — works around the clock
  • Modern low-profile brackets
  • Great for children and teens

Clear Aligners

  • Nearly invisible and removable
  • Eat and brush normally
  • Ideal for mild to moderate alignment
  • Popular with adults and professionals

High-Tech Precision

Digital Planning with Cephalometric Imaging

Precision is the key to a faster, more stable result. Our practice utilizes advanced Cephalometry imaging — a specialized orthodontic technology attached to our CBCT system. This allows us to capture highly accurate lateral views of the skull and jaw, measuring the exact relationship between your teeth and facial profile. By combining this data with digital impressions, we create a 100% customized treatment plan for your clear aligners or braces.

  • Digitally mapped, profile-aware orthodontics for a result that truly fits your face.

Traditional Braces

Traditional Braces for All Ages

For many patients, traditional braces are still the most effective tool for correcting complex bites and overcrowding. We use modern, low-profile brackets and high-tech archwires that apply gentler, steady pressure for a more comfortable experience.

  • Modern Low-Profile Brackets — Smaller, smoother, more comfortable.
  • Effective for Complex Cases — Ideal for severe crowding and bite issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Orthodontics: Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about braces, clear aligners, treatment time, cost, and adult orthodontics.
What's the difference between traditional braces and clear aligners?
Traditional braces use metal brackets and wires bonded to your teeth and are highly effective for complex bite issues, severe crowding, and rotations. Clear aligners (like Invisalign-style trays) are nearly invisible, removable for eating and brushing, and ideal for mild to moderate alignment cases. During your consultation we'll recommend the best option based on your bite and lifestyle.
How much do braces or clear aligners cost in Houston?
Orthodontic treatment at Texas Dental Center currently starts at $2,499 cash for qualifying braces or clear aligner cases (promotion through December 31, 2026). Typical comprehensive fees without the promo often run $3,500–$7,500 depending on case complexity and treatment length. Your written fee follows the exam and cephalometric plan. We accept most PPO insurance plans (many cover a portion of orthodontics) and offer an in-house plan for lab cases — $500 down, then about $83/month for 24 months — plus financing through Cherry, Alphaeon Credit, CareCredit and Sunbit.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Most adult and teen treatments take 12–24 months, while shorter cosmetic cases can be completed in 6–9 months. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of your case, your age, and how consistently you wear elastics or aligners. We use Cephalometric imaging at your consultation to give you a precise treatment estimate.
Am I too old for braces or clear aligners?
No. Orthodontic treatment works at any age — we treat patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond every week. Adult bone responds well to the same gentle, gradual forces used in orthodontics. Clear aligners are particularly popular with adult patients because of their discreet, professional appearance.
Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment?
Yes. Retainers are essential after orthodontic treatment to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions. Most patients wear a retainer full-time for the first 6 months, then transition to nighttime-only wear indefinitely. We provide both fixed (bonded) and removable retainer options.
Do braces hurt?
You may feel mild soreness for 2–4 days after braces are placed and after each adjustment as your teeth begin to shift. This discomfort is well managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and soft foods. Modern braces use lighter, more flexible wires than older systems, making the experience much more comfortable than it once was.
